At the top of Goldenberry Hill there is a Trig point and was constructed on 29th July 1948.

Trig Points are made of concrete and were erected by the Ordnance Survey to obtain an accurate map reading of the UK.

They are no longer used these days due to moden GPS and the last time the one on Goldenberry Hill was used was in 1981 to help navigation for the Oilrig that was built nearby.
