In the Broomeraigs Plantation there is a round sandstone structure and that is the water tank that supplied drinking water to all the properties on the estate. It was initially constructed to provide water for the mansion house and was built in the early 19th century.

The water ran down small burns from Goldenberry hill and fed through pipes into the water tank. The estate still used water from this tank until 1985 when a mains supply was added thus making the water tank redundant. The water pipes that supplied the castle and mansion house were made of lead and due to current regulations it was either replace all the pipes or get a mains supply.

The water tank is still in good condition but is only used to supply a few cattle troughs nearby.
